The scariest possible outcome for the Chicago Bears 2024 NFL Draft

The Chicago Bears are likely taking a quarterback in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, but is there a new likely prospect after the Bears GM and HC met with media?

Ryan Poles and Matt Eberflus want a winner at QB for the Chicago Bears

As mentioned by both Poles and Eberflus, a major characteristic the Chicago Bears want in their next quarterback is the ability to be a winner.

Right as that was mentioned, a red flag went off in my head.

Caleb Williams

Drake Maye

J.J. McCarthy

Jayden Daniels

28-10 overall record (73.7%)

18-11 overall record (62.1%)

37-3 overall record (92.5%)

37-18 overall record (67.3%)

When looking solely at winning, does this mean Ryan Poles and Matt Eberflus like J.J. McCarthy the most out of the top quarterbacks available? The top four quarterbacks, from what appears to be the consensus, are Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, J.J. McCarthy, and Jayden Daniels.

Of those four quarterbacks, J.J. McCarthy has — far and away — the best winning percentage with a 92.5%. As a self-proclaimed "not high on J.J. McCarthy" guy, I'm worried about both Poles and Eberflus mentioning their want for a winner.

This doesn't automatically mean McCarthy is their next quarterback, but the emphasis from both to mention they want a winner was alarming enough to make the connection.

Do the Chicago Bears think they can build a Super Bowl-winning team behind J.J. McCarthy? If they do, this is how it could look.
