2. Greg Stroman did not make the right moves in the Chicago Bears preseason

Greg Stroman appeared to have a strong case to sneak onto the Chicago Bears roster this weekend. He took snaps in the slot in the preseason opener, and there was a starting slot spot open for the second preseason game. Kyler Gordon was not going to play, and Josh Blackwell has been injured.

If Blackwell remains injured, there is a spot on the roster open for the backup slot. Can Stroman win that job? After one preseason game, we thought that may happen, but it will not be the case. Macon Clark started in the slot over Greg Stroman this weekend. This is a tough blow for Stroman.

It could mean that week three will decide who wins between these two or that Clark passed up Stroman and did not look back. More than anything, it probably means that if Blackwell is healthy, no one is catching him. Stroman could have seen a lot of work in week two as a starter and then combined that with week one to make a push, but his stock is down. Clark is still lacking enough to say he is pushing for an actual roster spot. Neither has made the seat hot for Blackwell.
