The Chicago Bears will not be participants of HBO's Hard Knocks until the Training Camp edition premieres during the first week of August but over the past two weeks of the offseason edition of the show, following the New York Giants, Bears' fans were treated with nuggets of information regarding two key moves that the team made this offseason.

In the debut episode of the series last week, the Giants' front office was seen discussing a potential pursuit of running D'Andre Swift. Swift signed a three-year deal with the Bears at the start of the offseason and on Tuesday's episode, there was exclusive footage of the Giants' evaluation of wide receiver Rome Odunze at the NFL Scouting Combine last February.

Rome Odunze's Hard Knocks' debut is music to the ears of Bears' fans.

Of course, Odunze is likely to be heavily featured when the Bears are on the show in August but this clip is further proof of why Ryan Poles was determined to land the wide receiver with the second of his two first-round picks in the 2024 NFL Draft. It would seem that the Giants were left impressed with Odunze after the Scouting Combine but thankfully for the Bears, New York took LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers with the 6th overall selection.

What was interesting about the Giants' decision to take Nabers is that prior to the draft, there was speculation that Odunze may have leapfrogged Nabers in terms of being projected to be the second wide receiver in the draft taken after Marvin Harrison Jr. Instead, the Giants taking Nabers, along with the Atlanta Falcons taking quarterback Michael Penix Jr., allowed a clear path to the Bears taking Odunze at No. 9.

Odunze certainly has the profile and poise of a wide receiver destined to reach stardom at the NFL level, and that should have the Bears ready to enter a new era.
