1. Is Geoff Swaim a fit with the Chicago Bears?

Geoff Swaim has the same amount of experience as Tyler Kroft and Eric Tomlinson. He may be the perfect blend of both. All three are in their ninth NFL season and all of them are 31. Swaim has 1,999 blocking snaps, the most of them all. Still, he has 71% of his snaps blocking, so he does have more routes than Tomlinson as well.

Swaim has 100 catches for 752 yards and six touchdowns, so he is not quite as active as Kroft, but much more active than Tomlinson. A better blocker than Kroft and a better pass catcher than Tomlinson is a pretty good fit for the Chicago Bears.

He spent most of his career with the Dallas Cowboys, which featured Ezekiel Elliott, and the Tennessee Titans, featuring Derrick Henry. He has spent a lot of his career in run heavy offenses, where he is the check down or the helpful tight end who can catch a pass or two. This is exactly what the Chicago Bears need. It is hard to see him making much more than Tomlinson or Kroft, despite being a better fit, so he should be the first name they call.
