5. Chris Manhertz is a reliable blocker the Chicago Bears could sign

Chris Manhertz may be an interesting fit with the Chicago Bears. He is not quite Marcedes Lewis at 39 years old, but he is not coming off of his rookie contract, either. Manhertz will be entering his eighth NFL season, and will likely be on his fourth NFL team when he signs this offseason.

He spent the last two seasons with the Jaguars. so he saw firsthand a team go from last place to the playoffs. Beyond that, he fits what they need. He spent 79% of his career snaps blocking. That is 1,825 blocking snaps out of his career 2,366.

It is a bit of a giveaway when he is on the field, but at the end of the day he is great at what he does, so it is hard to be too disappointed in him only having one strong trait to his game.

We know this would fit with Cole Kmet and would make him more involved in the passing game. Manhertz is only 31 years old, so he has plenty of time, especially as a blocking tight end. This is not a flashy move, but would be a great fit and would be a good value.
