Chicago Bears Underrated Free Agent Target:: Parris Campbell, WR

Parris Campbell is a guy who has never been able to find his footing in the NFL, which in large part is not necessarily his fault. The guy has simply not been able to catch a break during his career as he only got to play 15 games in the first three years of his career due to some freak injury luck.

This is really unfortunate as Campbell was a guy who had a good amount of hype surrounding his name coming into the league off a monster Combine performance. 2022 was a big year for Campbell as far as his health was concerned as he played all 17 games and showed some flashes in a terrible situation.

The Colts had a QB carousel between Sam Ehlinger, Nick Foles, and Matt Ryan so it was hard for Campbell to get consistent production with anyone other than Ryan at the helm. Frankly put, the Colts were a clown show and it was near impossible for anyone to look good in that system for that team.

The Chicago Bears bringing in Campbell as a WR4/WR5 to add depth to a young and unproven receiving core could be a highly beneficial move. Just look at how integral Zay Jones was to that Jacksonville team even though he was brought in as a depth piece to another young and unproven receiving core.

Signing Campbell to a light 1-2 year deal worth about $5 million per year would be a smart move with a good amount of upside while also bringing stability to a team that lacked stability in their receiving core all year last year.
