The 2024 NFL Preseason has arrived as the Chicago Bears play a game today against the Houston Texans.

Of course, the first preseason game of the NFL calendar year is more commonly known as the NFL's Hall of Fame game. The game kicks off the weekend events in Canton, Ohio with the culmination being the Hall of Fame ceremony on Saturday evening.

The Bears are well-represented in this year's Hall of Fame class. The inductees include three former Bears' players in kick returner Devin Hester, defensive end Julius Peppers, and defensive tackle Steve McMichael. In addition to those three players, the class also includes Dwight Freeney, Randy Gradishar, Andre Johnson, and Patrick Willis.

The actual game often takes a backseat to the camaraderie that occurs on the sideline during the Hall of Game. Thursday night is essentially the first day of school, where NFL players get a feel for being back on the field for a game, but most of the starters use the time to catch up with players on the other side. The fact that the entire NFL world gathers in Canton for this game only adds to the fact that the game isn't the main attraction.
