Since the drafting of Caleb Williams with the first overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft, Chicago Bears fans eagerly awaiting the reveal of the team's 2024 regular season schedule.

While Bears fans already know the opponents that the team will play in 2024, the schedule release allows for plans to be fully mapped out. To that end, the expectation is that the Bears will be heavily featured in primetime games this season.

Initially, there was speculation that the NFL was set to release the schedule this Thursday. However, reporting confirmed that Bears fans will need to wait one more week before learning the order of opponents for the team in 2024.

The 2024 NFL Schedule will be released on May 15.

Last season, the Bears opened and closed the season with games against the Green Bay Packers. It was a fitting end to the tenure of Justin Fields as the Bears' starting quarterback as each game represented how large the gap was between Chicago and the rest of the quarterback play in the NFC North division.

At the very least, we know that the Bears will not be opening the season against the Packers. The Packers will be playing the Philadelphia Eagles on the Friday of the opening weekend for the NFL, as the game will be played in Brazil.

A game against the Detroit Lions would be an intriguing start to the Bears season. After all, the Bears are hoping to make a similar jump toward the top of the NFC North division that the Lions made last season. It would also be a measuring stick game for the Bears to begin the season as they will see how their new-look offense fares against the reigning NFC North champions.

The first week of the 2024 NFL regular season is set to open on September 5.
