Chicago Bears' draft prospects given kind NFL comps by ESPN

Every NFL draft season, draft prospects are evaluated to take over as the new generation of superstars in the league. During this evaluation process, prospects get dissected from head to toe on whether they'll be the right fit for their next team. A common theme during this process is to give prospects an "NFL comp" or a player they most resemble in the NFL.

There are a couple of ways these NFL comps are given out, though.

Option 1: Compare the draft prospect to an NFL player when the NFL player was a prospect.

Ex. Caleb Williams, the prospect, comps to X NFL player when they were a prospect.

Option 2: Predict the draft prospect to have a career similar to an NFL player, past or present.

Ex. Caleb Williams, the prospect, comps to X NFL player's entire career.

Well, there's also the Brett Kollmann approach, too.

Assigning NFL comps to draft prospects isn't a perfect science. These comparisons can be either limiting of a player, or an evaluator can be overzealous of a player. Rarely do these comps mean anything by the time the player has cemented themselves in the league.

But, it's fun to see who these draft analysts comp Chicago Bears draft prospects to.
