The Chicago Bears had a good thing going for most of the game agains the Detroit Lions, but they of course just could not have anything nice. They once again wasted a great outing by Justin Fields as well as some other key players who stepped up in a big divisional matchup.

Chicago Bears Week 11 Winner No. 2: All of the linebackers

The Chicago Bears are very deep at the linebacker position. They might have the best all-around unit in the NFL with all three players being solid starters at the least. If Jack Sanborn is your third-string linebacker, it shows what kind of talent you have at the position. While this might not be the money spot on the defense in terms of importance, the steady linebacker plays this season has helped this defense develop over time.

All three linebackers were active today. Both Tremaine Edmunds and T.J. Edwards had interceptions and Sanborn found himself a sack on a big third-down stop. Edmunds and Edwards led the team in total tackles and were able to make their presence known around the football. While the team still struggled to contain the running backs in the passing game, the linebackers were able to bail out the poor play of the defensive interior, especially in the run game.

With the return of Edmunds, the Bears' defense being at full strength was a pleasant site. While the group is not necessarily a good defense, they have improved throughout the year and have some key pieces going forward. The linebackers are the core of this defense and are putting the defense in a position to get stops. There are still areas of improvement, especially on third downs, but these linebackers continue to make big plays when it counts and deserve some credit.
