Who did the Chicago Bears select in the 2023 NFL Draft?

1. Darnell Wright, OT - Tennessee (Pick No. 10)

The Chicago Bears land their lockdown right tackle to protect Justin Fields. Darnell Wright has the anchor needed to give Fields time on the right side of the line. He did not allow a sack and only gave up eight pressures in nearly 900 snaps in 2022.

2. Gervon Dexter, DT - Florida (Pick No. 53)

The Chicago Bears passed on Jalen Carter in the first round and took Darnell Wright plus a 2024 fourth-rounder instead. Ryan Poles gives Matt Eberflus his 3-technique defensive lineman in the second with the selection of Gervon Dexter.

3. Tyrique Stevenson, CB - Miami (Pick No. 56)

Cornerback was an under-the-radar need for the Chicago Bears this offseason. Ryan Poles adds length and physicality to the outside corner spot by trading up for Tyrique Stevenson in the second round.

4. Zacch Pickens, DT - South Carolina (Pick No. 61)

With the first pick in the third round, Ryan Poles and the Chicago Bears double-dip at the defensive tackle position. Poles said he loves the traits Zacch Pickens has and views both Pickens and Gilbert as hybrid defensive tackles who can be used interchangeably.

5. Roschon Johnson, RB - Texas (Pick No. 115)

David Montgomery did not re-sign with the Chicago Bears and although Ryan Poles added new faces to the running back room, Roschon Johnson was the backup to the top running back prospect (Bijan Robinson) in the 2023 NFL Draft. He completes the Bears' running-back-by-committee. He is a powerful back who does not go down at first contact. He is a strong pass blocker too -- making him a solid third-down back to start his career.
