The Chicago Bears started to make real progress on their offensive line this past offseason. However, they cannot stop now and have to continue to add as many resources as possible to create depth.  One name in free agency that they should consider is Trystan Colon from the Arizona Cardinals.

Why the Chicago Bears have to consider signing Trystan Colon in free agency this offseason

Trystan Colon was a former UDFA from the Baltimore Ravens. He spent three years with Baltimore, playing both center and guard. In 2023, he initially signed with the Jets but was let go in training camp before catching on with the Arizona Cardinals, who claimed him off of waivers. He got more opportunities because of the Cardinals' roster, but he took advantage with a career-high 322 snaps. He has 645 snaps in his career, so essentially, half of his career snaps came last season.

Overall, Colon has 315 snaps at left guard, 251 snaps at center, 53 snaps at right guard, and 26 snaps as an extra lineman. This would make him a nice fit for the Chicago Bears.

As they currently stand, they do not have a center at all on the roster. Colon could see that as an opportunity. More than that, he has experience at both guard spots. The Bears lost Teven Jenkins and Nate Davis at different times and at the same time throughout last season. Both have a history of missing some time, and the Bears would be smart to have some capable players. Adding Colon, who made four starts last year, is exactly the type of depth needed.

The salary should be minimal, and he could see the lack of a center on the roster and questionable injury histories inside and think he has a better chance to play here than in other spots. Should the Chicago Bears sign Trsytan Colon?
