It's been three years since the Chicago Bears traded Khalil Mack to the Los Angeles Chargers, and some fans still miss him to this day. It's not hard to see why, either, especially with the Bears' lack of depth at the position since then.
But, even stronger than the missing Mack would be the disgust from this fan base if a proposed trade became a reality. Bleacher Report's Alex Kay recently posed a few notable trade ideas and, if his Mack theory came true, Bears fans might lose their minds.
Kay's idea was for the Chargers to trade Mack to the Detroit Lions in exchange for just a 2026 sixth-round pick.
Khalil Mack to the Lions would cause an uproar with some Bears fans
First of all, the return seems insane considering Los Angeles just re-signed Mack this offseason. This doesn't seem like a realistic deal, although to be fair, Kay's column was titled "7 Shocking Trades..." so, that checks out.
Thinking about Mack in Detroit, though, is the stuff of nightmares. Truly, if Mack and Aidan Hutchinson were both healthy, that's a nasty duo for the rest of the NFC North to deal with.
It's one thing for Mack to be in another uniform. That happens. But, to see him in Detroit is a completely different beast. The Lions are suddenly an NFC powerhouse, and the last thing the Bears need is for them to retain the momentum they've built.

Chicago has already taken much of it by adding Ben Johnson and some of his former Detroit assistants. But, the Lions are still a supremely-talented team. There is no world where Bears fans want to see Mack in Detroit.
In three seasons with the Chargers, Mack has totaled 31.0 sacks. That includes a whopping 17.0 during the 2023 season, but it still proves that he is a force at age 34.
No one wants to see him in Detroit except, maybe, Lions fans. Let's hope this doesn't happen.
