When it comes to the Chicago Bears' 2025 season, they would love for Kyle Monangai to have a strong season, and it is not unreasonable to think that he will have a significant impact on their outlook.

That makes him one of the 30 most important players on the roster. However, if you told someone to predict the Bears' record and then informed them that Monangai would not produce a single yard, do you think they would change their expectation? That puts him at number 28.

Chicago Bears number 28 most important player: Kyle Monangai

The Bears surprised many when they waited until the seventh round to address running back. The team was linked to Ashton Jeanty and TreVeyeon Henderson early in the draft process, but both of them went just a couple of picks before they added Colston Loveland and Luther Burden.

So, they decided to wait, and wait, and wait before adding the rookie from Rutgers. On the depth chart, there is a real chance for him to get work, and the team does need a breakout.

D’Andre Swift has a role as a pass catching and change of pace back. However, whether it was Swift and Jamaal Williams or David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs, Ben Johnson always mixed speed with a powerful, steady hand between the tackles.

So, who is the Williams or Montgomery? Currently, it is a competition between the rookie and third-year back Roschon Johnson. Johnson fits the profile, but has 502 rushing yards in two seasons. He has struggled to stay healthy when given chances, so this could open the door for Monangai.

If it were just down to these two, you could argue for him to be ranked even higher than 28. However, there is still a chance that the team gets to camp, or even the preseason, when they decide that Monangai or Johnson is not the right fit, and they bring in a veteran of some sort.

Jamaal Williams himself remains unsigned. So, for now, he is just 28th on our list.
