The Chicago Bears finally put the Green Bay Packers to bed with a win at Lambeau Field in the final game of the 2024 season. It became close after the Bears were winning for most of the game despite the offense struggling early. There was also a bit of deja vu as Green Bay went up by one point with less than a minute left in the game.
Caleb Williams and the offense were able to sustain a drive that put them in position for an even longer field goal (51 yards) than the one the Packers blocked in the first meeting of these two teams. That blocked field goal gave the Packers the win, but this time the kick was good, and the Chicago Bears beat the Packers for the first time since 2018. It was also the first time the Bears beat the Packers at Lambeau Field since 2015. Yikes!
A win for the Bears didn't seem like it mattered, but I'd argue it was very important for these young players who have been losing week after week all season. Despite the win costing them a spot or two in the 2025 NFL Draft, getting that weight off their shoulders and going out on a high note is more important.
The Chicago Bears must finally hire the right coach
As exciting as the victory over the Packers was, it is now time to turn attention to the head coaching hire. Ryan Poles survived Black Monday and looks to be sticking around for at least 2025. My prediction is that the Bears will align his contract with whoever they hire as head coach. The important part now is finally finding the right coach and a coach -- one who can unlock Caleb Williams' potential.
Right now, it looks like the Chicago Bears are going to interview 100 candidates. I am still hoping to see Liam Coen or Bobby Slowik added to the list. As of now, there are 15 confirmed candidates the Chicago Bears are interested in for interviews. I looked at the list, separated them into tiers, and then ranked them. Let's take a look in reverse order.
