Chicago Bears general manager has been the most active in all of the NFL this week between making trades and signings, and the free agency period hasn't even begun yet.

On Thursday, Poles and the Bears agreed to re-sign special teams standout Josh Blackwell.

It's a 2-year deal worth up to $6 million for Blackwell, who remains one of the best special teams players in all of football.

Additionally, Blackwell plays some slot corner for the Bears when he's needed to fill in.

Ryan Poles is flipping the script on past Bears offseasons with his latest roster moves

Already this week, Poles has completed two trades (one which was of massive proportion) and even after the two deals, he's continued making moves.

It began when the Bears dealt for Los Angeles Rams guard Jonah Jackson on Tuesday.

Then, the Bears made the ultimate splash by acquiring two-time All Pro guard Joe Thuney from the Kansas City Chiefs.

Thursday morning, Chicago made an under-the-radar move by signing free agent tight end Durham Smythe, who previously spent time with Ben Johnson back in Miami. Smythe comes in as an excellent blocking tight end, furthering the priority of Johnson wanting to focus on protection and blocking in front of Caleb Williams.

Now ensuring the Bears get their top special teamer back in Chicago, Poles has not rested once.

Again, the free agency period has yet to officially begin. What Poles has done, thus far, has been nothing short of impressive. Whether or not you love, like or for some reason hate any of the moves he's made, you cannot disagree with the fact that he has been extremely aggressive.

The aggressiveness is something we haven't seen in Chicago for quite some time, and it's begun before the legal tampering period opens up. This is truly a new era for the Bears, and fans should be thrilled.
