Chicago Bears fans are in their feelings about the new stadium update that might see the franchise move to Hammond, Indiana.

At the beginning of the week, there was a promise that the Illinois House and Senate would discuss a bill focused on the Bears' new stadium. All of a sudden, the hearing was cancelled, and the Bears and Indiana Governor Mike Braun were releasing statements expressing their excitement about the new stadium potentially coming to Indiana in the near future.

Everyone has been sharing their opinions on the subject, whether it is positive or negative. ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith chimed in that while he is sad about the idea of the Bears leaving Chicago, it might be for the best.

"The city of Chicago had ample time to find something to work out so you don't have to deal with Soldier Field and you haven't done it. If Indiana is going to step up and get it done and you're talking about a 20 minute drive, please you do it. There's no question about it."

Stephen A. Smith understands what the Bears could do

Bears fans know this has been a lingering problem over the last three years, and time is running out on making something happen. It's not the distance for fans from Chicago to Hammond that is the problem. It's just how this situation has gone overall that doesn't sit right with fans.

This has to raise questions about why they couldn't find another location in Illinois, or why any compromises couldn't be made with Illinois or the Bears. No matter how this thing ends, it's really the fault of both sides for not doing what's best for the fans, and it's been more about what's best for themselves and winning the power struggle.
