NFL Free Agency does not start until Monday afternoon but the Chicago Bears may have just teased one of their signings.

With free-agent deals reported immediately at the opening of the "legal tampering" period, chances are many free agents are spending this weekend coming to an understanding of the next team they will be playing for. For the Bears, in recent weeks, there have been rumors of a potential reunion with Khalil Mack.

Mack is reportedly interested in returning to the Bears with the understanding that he wouldn't be the key piece on defense, the way that he was when the Bears first traded him prior to the 2018 season.

With the Bears also using draft capital to acquire Jonah Jackson and Joe Thuney as upgrades to their defensive line, there has been speculation that the team's free agency pursuits may shift to the defensive side of the ball—a shift that the Bears' social media team may have teased on Friday afternoon.

The Bears may have spoiled Khalil Mack's return

Yes, on the heels of 2025 NFL Free Agency where the Bears have been linked to Mack, that is his highlight being used to open a clip about Bears' players leaving a legacy. There is no question that Mack's Bears' debut against the Packers in 2018 was a legacy game. In the 2018 season opener, Mack collected a sack, forced a fumble, and returned an interception for a touchdown. But the Mack highlights weren't done there as they also included a clip of him sacking Tom Brady during the Bears' 2020 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday night football.

It may be time to officially dust off your Khalil Mack Bears' jerseys. For as much as Bears fans may dream about the team trading for Trey Hendrickson, a reunion with Mack on a short-term deal feels like the logical move for this front office.
