It is going to take a little time for Caleb Williams to break some all-time Chicago Bears records when it comes to either single-season or in the realm of total career numbers. Yet, he is already making franchise history in different ways, and he continued to do so after a huge Monday Night Football win against the Washington Commanders.
During the MNF postgame show, it was stated that Williams had become the first Bears quarterback, ever, to throw for at least 200 yards and one touchdown in each of the first five games of the season.
For all of the Bears quarterback records that seem easily attainable by the rest of the league's standards, this is one milestone that has evaded the franchise for its entire 100-plus year existence.
Now, this might seem like a fairly-low bar to clear. But the reality is, it's actually quite impressive.
Caleb Williams did something very few quarterbacks have done this season
If I were to toss Williams' name in the same conversation as, let's say, Matthew Stafford, Patrick Mahomes, and Josh Allen when it comes to any given stat, you'd probably believe the other three names. Still, you might have a hard time believing Williams was in their company.
Believe it or not, though, Williams is the only one out of all four quarterbacks to have accomplished this feat. Neither Stafford, nor Mahomes, nor Allen has thrown for at least 200 yards and a passing touchdown in every game this season.
It seems quite absurd, but it's the truth.
This only proves how consistent Williams has been. When you hear some folks talk about how calm he's looked late in games, and how he and his teammates haven't flinched under adversity in these three-straight wins, a stat like this goes right in line with that tone.
Williams' consistency is a breath of fresh air for Bears fans. It's much-needed, and it's something fans are hoping sticks for the rest of the season.
Williams can and probably will break all of the specific, game-by-game records for the Bears at his position. But what fans are really hoping to see soon is him throw for 4,000 yards and 30 touchdowns.

When that happens, it'll be a monumental monkey off the Bears' back.
