The Chicago Bears are a no-brainer suitor for Myles Garrett following trade request

Myles Garrett has requested a trade from the Cleveland Browns. The move makes sense when you consider they not only do not have a quarterback, but they have the Deshaun Watson contract hanging over the ability to add one.

While the Chicago Bears are not the perfect team to give Garrett ‘win-now’ hope, they do have what it would take to make a deal happen. The team should be aggressive with offers for Garrett.

The Chicago Bears should spare no effort in targeting Myles Garrett.

First, they have draft capital. The Bears have a top-ten pick. While the class is not completely loaded, it could give the Browns two top-ten picks this year. They can then swing on a quarterback and then still add a quality player.

The Bears also have two second-round picks that could be offered in a potential trade package for Garrett.

Beyond that, the Bears have the cap space. Garrett wants to win, but if or when he gets traded, he will also be looking to become the highest-paid defender once again. The Bears have the cap space to make that a possibility.

The Bears have Caleb Williams on a rookie salary for the next three seasons while Garrett would have his heaviest cap hits.

Williams is the other reason why this makes sense. Garrett wants to win, and while it makes sense that a team like the Philadelphia Eagles or San Francisco 49ers would be linked to them, they do not have the picks and cap space that Chicago does. While Chicago does not have a winning reputation, Williams' play attracted  Ben Johnson. Garrett may have similar intrigue.

A combination of Johnson, Williams, and the skill players in Chicago could have Garrett seeing the upside. Adding Garrett across from Montez Sweats makes the pass rush lethal and he is exactly what would turn the team into a contender.
