At center, Logan Jones may not be known for traditional explosiveness, but his agility testing was among the best at his position. That quickness in short areas still fits the overall theme, especially for a player expected to operate in tight spaces along the interior offensive line.
At tight end, Sam Roush brings notable athletic upside. Meanwhile, Zavion Thomas was viewed as a reach by some, but his speed is difficult to overlook. His 4.28-second 40-yard dash highlights the type of explosiveness the Bears were targeting.
That trend continued into Day 3. Players such as Malik Muhammad, Keyshaun Elliott, and Jordan van den Berg all bring strong athletic traits. Each may have fallen in the draft for different reasons, but their physical profiles fit the same mold the Bears emphasized throughout their class.
This approach aligns with head coach Ben Johnson and how he wants his team to play. The focus is on speed and creating advantages through quickness and athleticism. Building a roster with that type of profile reflects an intent to push tempo and create mismatches.
