These insanely weird 2025 Bears predictions could actually happen

Every season, we see plenty of surprises, both good and bad. We even see our fair share of flat-out weirdness, and the Chicago Bears are in perfect position to give us exactly that under first-year head coach Ben Johnson.

Johnson comes to Chicago with a background full of creativity and knowledge on the offensive side, so that's where most of our predictions are coming from, here. But, we've got some outrageously-bizarre notes that involve the defense in some fashion, too.

This Bears season could get very weird under Ben Johnson

Olamide Zaccheaus leads the Bears in touchdown receptions

How weird would it be to see a player not named Moore, Odunze, Loveland or Burden lead the Bears in touchdown receptions? It would be shocking and unexpected, yes. But, it would certainly be odd to see Zaccheaus lead the way, there.

The fact is, he's developed such a bond with Caleb Williams and he's impressed the coaching staff tremendously. Even Ryan Poles gushes about his offseason work, so maybe it wouldn't be all that crazy in the end.

DJ Moore finishes with touchdowns in all three phases of the offense

The Bears' thin running back room, as of late, isn't the only reason we've heard DJ Moore lining up in the backfield. It's been a consistent theme for a while, now. Ben Johnson's offense is going to be one of the most fun and creative we've ever seen in Chicago.

Moore has been consistently used out of the back field, and don't think for a second that means only as a running back. I would almost guarantee he throws a pass this season. Does it go for a score?

Kevin Byard leads the Bears in interceptions

This sounds completely bizarre, especially considering Byard only came up with one interception last year and hasn't had multiple picks in a season since 2022. But, in four of the last five seasons in a Dennis Allen defense, a safety has either led the team in interceptions or tied for the lead.

Bears sweep the Packers

This is actually both realistic and flat-out weird. Seeing the Bears go 2-0 against the Packers in a season is a rarity. But, Ben Johnson owns Matt LaFleur. He is 5-1 against LaFleur in the last three seasons. Why shouldn't that continue?

Tyson Bagent gets on the field and throws a touchdown pass

How crazy would it be to see the Bears suddenly sub-in Tyson Bagent when Caleb Williams was perfectly healthy? It would absolutely be crazy, but I wouldn't put it past Ben Johnson at all. Heck, Johnson has thrown Bagent in the back field at times during practice when the Bears didn't have enough healthy running backs.

A Bears defensive lineman scores a touchdown on offense

Sticking with Johnson's creativity and borderline absurdity, here, I wouldn't be that surprised if he took it up a notch in Chicago. We've seen what he did in Detroit and how he involved offensive linemen past just their pass-blocking duties. It would be hilarious and weird to see someone like Shemar Turner come in and catch a touchdown pass.

But, it also wouldn't be that shocking.

Here's to a (hopefully) weird season that leads to many Bears victories.
