The Chicago Bears were dead in the water. There was little to no hope. After a couple of nearly drive-killing penalties, late in the fourth quarter and down by 10, the Bears looked done.
And then, in almost the blink of an eye, they were in overtime against the Green Bay Packers.
And then ... Caleb Williams had maybe the most incredible throw of his career on a 46-yard touchdown bomb to D.J. Moore which won the game. It was iconic. It was electric. It was a defining moment for the second-year quarterback and FOX broadcaster Tom Brady knew it.
"They go for the jugular! ... 10 out of 10, A-plus throw by Caleb Williams ... the throw of Caleb Williams' life!" Brady exclaimed live on the air.

Tom Brady was just echoing Bears fans all over. Soldier Field was absolutely buzzing and Brady knew what they just witnessed was a career-defining throw in just his second year. Williams silenced Packer fans everywhere and sent Green Bay home packing with just one flick of the wrist.
Caleb Williams may have just ignited a massive Bears spark at just the right time
After the game, Williams was interviewed on the field and had many familiar things to say. He continued to tell the world that he and his teammates know who they are.
There was "too much time" left on the clock, Williams said, which again felt familiar.
This was the sixth game-winning drive of the season for Williams, which breaks the all-time franchise record he had previously tied.
Had the game continued going the way it did for the first 55-plus minutes, the outlook would look much different. Once more, the Bears looked done. They were done. Everybody knew it.
The miraculous fourth quarter magic was something else. And, the momentum generated from a win like that could carry the Bears into the playoffs.
Just like this team has done all season long, they didn't waver. They didn't quit. They didn't hang their heads. The Bears fought until the bitter end, and on every single play ... until the final play.
That final play ... wow. It is going to be replayed hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of times this week alone. Bears fans may or may not sleep after a win like that, but for good reason.
Chicago needed a victory like this. And, hearing the greatest quarterback of all time talk up Williams' laser made it even more sweet.
