Where do we even begin in assessing the Chicago Bears' Week 9 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals? That was as wild a ride as any you'll see all season long.
But, one glaring weakness stood out for the Bears and it's been on display for a few weeks now: the lack of cornerback depth and talent. Without Jaylon Johnson, still, Chicago continues to struggle at the position. Exhibit A: Joe Flacco just put up 470 passing yards at age 40 -- gross.
There's been a lot of buzz around one particular trade target for cornerback-needy teams, too, but it just so happens that he may not end up being moved before the deadline.
Seattle Seahawks corner Riq Woolen is someone we've mentioned here a lot, recently, and would be a strong fit under Dennis Allen. However, he now looks like he's going to be highly necessary for Seattle after a Josh Jobe concussion in Week 9.
The Bears may not be able to get Riq Woolen at the NFL trade deadline thanks to recent Seahawks injuries
This isn't the first Seahawks cornerback injury, this year, either. Devon Witherspoon recently returned from an injury of his own; an injury that required Woolen to continue play the majority of meaningful defensive snaps in his absence.
After Witherspoon returned, it looked more likely that the Seahawks could move on from Woolen. As a rookie, the former UTSA standout led the league in interceptions and even made the Pro Bowl. But, inconsistent play has been the name of the game for him since that first year.
Still, Woolen profiles as a perfect corner for Dennis Allen's defense. His physical style of play and long, strong frame would be put to use right away in Chicago. The Bears have just brought in one of Allen's former players, C.J. Gardner-Johnson, and he played well in his first game with Chicago.
Woolen would add a whole lot more needed depth and talent here, but the Seahawks may not move him after Jobe's concussion. Having their top two cornerbacks both suffer injuries in the first half of the season, Seattle would be wise to hang onto Woolen even though he is in the final year of a rookie contract.

The Bears could try to sweeten any deal by offering up somewhere around a fourth-round pick, but Seattle might want something higher. Woolen is talented enough to warrant that fourth-rounder, but the Seahawks could also ride this year out and play the compensatory pick game in free agency next year.
