After clinching a playoff spot for the first time in five years, many Chicago Bears fans are celebrating the accomplishment of getting there.
The 11-4 Bears are not quite at that point there. Chicago linebacker Tremaine Edmunds told the media the team is focused on one thing right now before the postseason.
"You got to be able to get into the dance first to even have Super Bowl talks. Being able to punch our ticket to even have a chance to bring that trophy home is something that is very important to us," Edmunds said via 670 The Score's Chris Emma. "Don't get me wrong, it's a great accomplishment, but at the same time we have two important games coming up that will shape up how that will even go."
Bears are zoned in on the last two games of the season
This is the correct mindset for Chicago to have, as they must still take care of business. The Bears can still earn the NFC's No. 1 seed by winning out and getting some help from the NFC West teams losing.
It seems like a tough ask to get to number one, especially after the San Francisco 49ers got a big road win over the Indianapolis Colts to close out Week 16, but there's still a chance. Chicago will need some help, as the Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks, and San Francisco 49ers will each need a loss to get more help.
The most important thing first will be to beat the 49ers on the road in Week 17. Afterwards, they finish the season against the Detroit Lions in Week 18 action before officially getting into the playoffs.

Bears head coach Ben Johnson shared the same message as Edmunds: they are focused on winning the next two games to close out the season strong. They will need all the momentum they can have for the postseason, so winning one game at a time should be the goal.
