The Chicago Bears are in full offseason mode as they search for their next head coach.

With a decision likely coming sooner rather than later, this will be the first major domino to fall at Halas Hall during the 2025 offseason. Once the coaching staff is in place, it's time to direct attention to the roster.

The first of two major time periods, this offseason, will come when NFL free agency officially opens up on March 12, the date of the new league year. Going into this year's free agency period, how much money will the Bears have at their disposal?

Per Over The Cap, the Bears are currently projected to have just north of $66 million in cap space. That number is good for seventh-most in the league.

Of course, these numbers are going to change for all NFL teams as many moves have yet to be made. Teams will opt to cut players to save money, restructure current contracts and even make some trades. So, the Bears very well could end up with more than their current $66 million to work with.

It'll be a good chunk of change for Ryan Poles to utilize, but what about the 2025 NFL Draft? How many picks do the Bears have and where do they land?

The Bears have a total of eight picks in this year's draft.

For a refresher, the Bears traded their fourth-round pick to the Buffalo Bills this past year in exchange for the fifth rounder which landed them defensive end Austin Booker.

The extra second rounder is by way of the Carolina Panthers trade that sent them the rights to draft Bryce Young.

Meanwhile, the extra seventh-round pick comes from the trade that sent Khalil Herbert to the Cincinnati Bengals.

This is clearly a pivotal offseason for Poles. Not only does he have to get this head coaching hire right, but he also has a ton of capital to use in order to continue building this roster. Obviously, the current stain on this roster comes in the trenches.

Will Poles finally choose to spend significant money and draft capital on his offensive line? Quarterback Caleb Williams was sacked more than any one else in the NFL this year, and if the Bears aren't careful, they are going to ruin yet another player under center.

Poles has the assets to do a great job this offseason. But, it's up to him to make those decisions a reality.
