The Chicago Bears have spent most of the season without their top cornerbacks, Jaylon Johnson and Kyler Gordon.
Johnson has been dealing with a groin injury after undergoing core-muscle surgery on it two months ago, and has played only half a game this season. Gordon has had a lingering calf injury that has kept him out of all but two games.
Chicago's top cornerbacks have been practicing over the last two weeks, with the looming question of when the Bears will remove them from the IR and let them play. The Week 13 showdown against the Philadelphia Eagles was going to be the big moment to see what the team would do with them.
Is Chicago getting their two cornerbacks back for the Eagles Week 13 game
On Thanksgiving Day, the Bears announced they were activating Johnson and Gordon from the IR after a full week of full participation in practice. They are in line to play against the Eagles, which would be the first time this season that both guys have been on the field together.
Johnson has been one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL over the last two years after being a second-round pick back in 2021 for the Bears. He's made the Pro Bowl in 2023 and 2024.
Gordon was also a second-round pick for the Bears, selected in 2022. Despite coming off his first season last year with no interceptions throughout the year, he did have a career-high in tackles with 75.
This will completely shift the starting lineup in the secondary, with Johnson becoming the CB1 once again and Gordon moving into the slot. With Tyrique Stevenson ruled out with a hip injury, Nahshon Wright, who has been a star this season for Chicago with his league-leading five interceptions, will be the CB2.

There are other big decisions that Bears defensive coordinator Dennis Allen will have to make regarding C.J. Gardner-Johnson, who was filling in for Gordon in the slot. With four of their top five linebackers being out for the Eagles game, could Gardner-Johnson be in line to play in the box?
