Losing an offensive weapon like Sproles is going to hurt, not to mention the hole that De La Puente left at center when he left to join our beloved Chicago Bears. However, the Saints did add Jarius Byrd; one of the top FA on the market at Safety and was able to re-sign Zach Strief who was graded out as the highest  ROT in the league in 2013. They continue to have a strong core group of players and there is no foreseeable reason for the Saints to have a drop off year. Most of the blogs and articles about the Saints mention the need for a dynamic WR who can stretch the field and take take some attention/coverage away from Tight End Jimmy Graham, as well as both inside and outside linebackers to effectively run Rob Ryan’s 3-4. At this point, the Saints will be starting an unproven 2nd year player at Center in Tim Leito who has virtually no game action as well as 2nd year player Terron Armstead at LOT from Arkansas Pine-Buff who was selected in the 3rd round in the 2013 Draft. Corner is also a need because Ryan’s system often requires the CB to be on an island with the receivers. It would seem the Saints have a laundry list of holes, but they always seem to find a way to succeed (unless their Head Coach gets suspended).
