Happy Monday Bears’ fans! We’re entering the last week in June and keep trudging through the most boring part of the sports calendar, but there are still plenty of Chicago Bears stories to follow.  Check out our latest installment of Bear Dawn for Monday June 29th, your one stop shop for all the latest Chicago Bears news and notes from the internet.

Matt Forte and some of his fellow NFC Pro Bowlers took on the AFC in Celebrity Family Feud.  The episode aired last night and there was definitely a creepy part.  Forte and the NFC got skunked by the AFC, but I blame Packer Eddie Lacey for the loss!

Second year running back Ka’Deem Carey is in a stiff competition for the backup running back spot behind Matt Forte.  He knows he’s got his work cut out for him to earn a spot:

"“[The competition is] exciting,” Carey told Chicago Football. “If you can get this spot here, then you know you’re a pretty good back in this league.”"

Da Bears Beat thinks the Bears are banking on a risky mix of old and new players.

"They added some veterans in free agency before bringing in a seemingly strong draft class in May. What that leaves the team with now, heading into training camp, is a roster that is sort of a weird combination of youth and experience. The Bears have a lot of older and younger players, but they seem to be a little light on guys in the prime of their career, in that 26-29 year old range."

In the latest edition of their 30 Day Challenge, Windy City Gridiron asks who your favorite Bears DB was.  For me, it’s Peanut Tillman, hands down.

Former Bears great Doug Buffone would have celebrated his 71st birthday on Saturday.  The Bears website paid tribute to the dearly departed Doug.

And last, but certainly not least, Brian Urlacher is doing what you’re supposed to do when you’re retired – he’s gone fishin’.
