  • The only redeeming quality for special teams were the four successful extra points.  Bad decisions, bad penalties and bad execution.  A blocked punt out of the end zone led directly to the Niners first score.  The Bears committed three penalties on the same punt attempt.  That’s a trifecta of badness.  ProFootball Focus agrees, grading the Bears special teams dead last.  Is it too soon to start the #FireJoeDeCamillis hashtag yet?

    Coaching (B)

    I’m not sure what Marc Trestman said at halftime, but whatever he said certainly worked.  The Bears held the Niners to just 3 points in the second half while going on to score 21 unanswered.  We scoffed at Trestman’s idea to head to the west coast a day early, but maybe there was something to that.
