Five Remaining Free Agents Chicago Bears Should Target
Evan Mathis – Guard

I know he’s 33 and this is a long shot as he will probably stay in Philly, but adding Mathis would make the Kyle Long transition to tackle a whole lot easier. Mathis played at left guard most of his time in Philly, but he could play right guard as well if he has to.
Either way, he’d be an upgrade as in 2014 (primarily as a left guard), he was graded out at a 25.8 overall via Pro Football Focus. In pass blocking he graded out at 7.5, while in run blocking he graded out at 17.3.
There is a strong possibility that free agent Will Montgomery will take Long’s spot if Kyle is moved to tackle but there cannot be a huge amount of confidence in Montgomery. Furthermore, you can’t ever have too much depth along the line as we saw last year.
What are your thoughts and what is your opinion on these free agents or any others?
