Kevin Hogan

Dec 30, 2014; Santa Clara, CA, USA; Stanford Cardinal quarterback Kevin Hogan (8) drops back for a pass against the Maryland Terrapins during the first quarter of the Foster Farms Bowl at Levi

Position: Quarterback

College: Stanford

Height: 6’4″

Weight: 218

Game: California (6-4) at Stanford (8-2) – Saturday, November 21st – 9:30 P.M. CT – ESPN

The man who took the reigns after the once in a generation prospect, Andrew Luck, had graduated. Hogan has been overlooked and under analyzed by the general sports media.

Hogan has posted a touchdown to interception ratio throughout his collegiate career of 2.36 (66 touchdowns to 28 interceptions). Considered as an afterthought in comparison to most of his fellow college quarterbacks, Hogan has regained some value to his draft stock as he has lead his Stanford Cardinals to an 8-2 record.

Hogan could make for an interesting selection for the Bears organization. He seems to fit the mold of a Kirk Cousins type prospect: someone who had a solid collegiate career, but was never thought of as more than just that – a solid college player.

Hogan has an extremely strong arm and is able to display good accuracy on throws to all levels of the field. His touch on the deep ball is something to be admired.

There is a level of concern regarding his delivery mechanics as his throwing motion is elongated, but that could be fixed if developed for a few years.

If the Bears could get Hogan into their system, and allow for him to develop, he could grow into a quarterback that this franchise could produce behind for years to come.

Make sure to check out the Kevin Hogan led Stanford Cardinals this Saturday as they take on California Golden Bears.
