The Green Bay Packers might look a lot more blue and orange than green and gold in 2016. According to reports, the Packers are looking at trying to bring in both Matt Forte and Martellus Bennett. Some Bears fans might be willing to accept this as the Bears appear ready to move on from both of these individuals, but for others, it might make them quite nauseous.

Werder broke the news on ESPN’s NFL Insiders. According to Werder, the Packers are not interested in trading for Bennett and would only be interested in the tight end if he was released. However, there has been a lot of chatter that the early returns on Bennett were not good and that the Bears would not be opposed to releasing the moody tight end.

The Bears have made a decision to move on from some of their veterans as they continue to work on building up a youthful, talented roster. With that in mind, it makes sense for the Bears to part ways with guys like Bennett and Forte, and once they do, they can’t control what city they call home after Chicago. While that may be the case, even fans that understand the business aspect of the NFL, if both Bennett and Forte were both wearing Packers colors this fall, it’s going to be a tough one to stomach.
