NFL Mock Draft 2016 First Round 1.0
11th overall- DeForest Buckner– DE- Oregon- Chicago Bears
The first thing you notice about DeForest Buckner is how giant of a man he is. Tall with good bulk. Long arms like vines. The largest hands recorded in the history of the combine. Very athletic for a man his size. Still with projectable size and strength. Than you notice his tape and think to yourself how did this player fall this far? Well let me tell you the Chicago Bears aren’t complaining one single bit as Ryan Pace may just have set a record sprinting to turn in his card with the name DeForest Buckner on it in record time. This is just another key piece in the core of a rebuilt defense in the vision of John Fox, and Ryan Pace. Counting all the additions in free agency, and this pick- as well as possible others with eight more picks on the board- suddenly this defense in Chicago isn’t such a joy to play against anymore. When looked back on years away from today this may be looked at as the biggest value pick in the entire daft. Buckner has that much upside to go along with an already impressive floor.
