30th overall- Derrick Henry– RB- Alabama- Carolina Panthers

When you glance over the Panthers Roster it’s really hard to see any huge needs. One of the reasons Carolina picks Derrick Henry with their first pick is because Jonathan Stewart is soon to reach that dreaded age of 30. It’s like a death nail in the coffin of a running backs career. In Henry they have a power back to add to that power running game head coach Ron Rivera loves. This team is going to be hard to defend. You have two power backs, and a giant quarter back that can run defensive backs over, and also chuck it downfield to five pretty good receiving threats. It’s going to be hard to stack the box with deep threats like Ted Ginn jr. and Stephen Hill flying down the field. Add two giant split ends in Devin Funchess, and Kelvin Benjamin to the mix, and a move tight end like Greg Olsen attacking the seam and you have yourself a little problem. With another good draft and health there’s no reason to expect anything else but another return to the superbowl. Adding a bruiser like Henry to mix will have defenses around the league screaming uncle.
