7. Ervin Baldwin DL, Michigan State

Baldwin was cut in training camp. The Colts took him off of the Bears practice squad, and he was active for three career games in 2009 for the Colts.

7. Chester Adams, OL, Georgia

Adams spent 2008 on the Bears practice squad but was cut the following summer.

7. Joey LaRocque, LB, Oregon State,

LaRocque was active for 14 games in 2008. For a compensatory pick in the seventh round, this is about as much return as you can ask for. He was released in 2009, though.

7. Kirk Barton, OL, Ohio State

Barton was cut and did not make the practice squad. He did not make an active list for any NFL team.

7. Marcus Monk, WR, Arkansas

Monk spent the 2008 season on the practice squad before being released. He bounced around for the next two seasons, but did not take an NFL snap. His brother is the NBA draft prospect Malik Monk.

Overall: D-

Forte saves this being a complete failure. The Bears did not win much, and only made one playoff run with Forte. They also let him go via free agency to recover a compensatory pick. Still, the run that the Bears had with Forte and the value that he gave them as a second round pick is a huge success. Considering the heap of misses in this class he is a diamond in the rough, but a diamond nonetheless and that is better than a complete wash.
