Bears Preseason Week Two: Instant Reaction
Defensive Line
Jonathan Bullard and Roy Robertson-Harris were the players of the night. Bullard had three tackles and countless pressures in a starting opportunity. Robertson-Harris dominated a stretch in the third quarter, putting up two sacks and a tackle. C.J. Wilson slid over to defensive end with Akiem Hicks and Mitch Unrein out. It gave John Jenkins an extra look at nose tackle.
Edge Rushers
Sam Acho played almost the entire game. He finished with two tackles but had countless pressures and performed on special teams. His roster standing appears to be in great shape.
Inside Linebackers
Christian Jones and John Timu seemed to be in competition all night. They split series next to Jerrell Freeman and then played next to each other for the majority of the second half. Timu appeared to have had the better game, then he got beat giving up a late touchdown pass in the closing seconds. Jones came in with a slight edge and probably maintains that roster standing.
Cornerbacks
CreVon LeBlanc had a very up and down night. He had penalties, pass breakups, a fumble recovery for a touchdown called back by a penalty on someone else. He played the entire first half and into the third quarter in the slot, so the team got a great look at him. Kyle Fuller got a start with Prince Amukamara out and played well. At the least, the team was able to put some good tape out there to boost his trade stock.

Safety
Adrian Amos started but did not play long. He wound up being substituted by Eddie Jackson who saw valuable snaps next to Quintin Demps. Jackson showed great athleticism on defense and is going to be the starting punt returner. It should also be noted that Harold Jones-Quartey saw snaps in his first preseason game ahead of Deon Bush and Deiondre Hall. It was Hall and Bush on the field when Blaine Gabbert orchestrated two touchdown drives.
