Leonard Floyd could be set for a huge game in Week 10
It has come in waves, but overall Leonard Floyd has had a very successful 2017 season. He is on pace for 10 sacks this season. If he continues that pace, he would join Chandler Jones, Khalil Mack, and Vic Beasley as the four pass rushers to be drafted in the first round since 2010 and put up at least 17 sacks in their first two seasons. Not bad company.
Some will point to a play like the Sam Bradford sack and discredit some of what Floyd has done. However, he has also won a lot of one on one battles to create pressures that have forced incompletions.
Now, Floyd sees himself in quite possibly the best matchup he will be in all season. The Green Bay Packers offensive line is banged up. Bryan Bulaga was just announced as out for the season which will lead to the Packers leaning on Justin McCray as even the backups to Bulaga are hurt.
On top of that, the game looks too fast for Brett Hundley at this point. He is not seeing the pressure, and when he does he is reacting by putting his head down and running. It has led to him being sacked eight times in just over two games of play.Below, he leaves a clean pocket to run into a sack.
Coming off of a bye week with the chance to make a statement and put his name in the class with the elite young pass rushers, Floyd has a real chance to make noise this week against the Green Bay Packers. It will be for him to take advantage.
