NFL Draft 2018 Rumors: Bears eyeing top ND linemen
Many have connected the Chicago Bears to offensive guard Quenton Nelson in the 2018 NFL draft. However, the team may also be interested in Mike McGlinchey as well
As the hours pass and the rumors heat up it becomes hard to separate what is fact and what is fiction heading into the 2018 NFL draft. However, one source who has consistently been thorough with information over the past couple of seasons has been Eric Galko of the Sporting News and Optimum Scouting. His scouting service is used by NFL teams and he exchanges scouting tips for information. After learning of the news that the Cleveland Browns are eyeing in on Baker Mayfield, Galko had a periscope session where he unloaded some information from teams he has talked to.

In the first ten minutes, Galko was asked if he had heard anything on Chicago. Galko went on to say that he was on the phone with someone this morning who said the Bears were closing in on the top Notre Dame lineman, Mike McGlinchey and Quenton Nelson.
Nelson is a given. McGlinchey may surprise some, but it is also is an idea that we floated out there this week as well. Early in the week talked ramped up that McGlinchey would be drafted top ten. We know of the coaching connection to Harry Hiestand. It is also understood that the top ten is for high upside positions, quarterbacks, pass rushers and pass protectors. The move for McGlinchey at eight makes a lot more sense than some may think.
While I personally will be having my fingers crossed for Nelson, seeing McGlinchey at eight is not a doomsday scenario either.
