Now that the 2018 NFL draft is over what would the 53-man roster look like if the Chicago Bears had to make it today?

With draft picks added and Undrafted Free Agents signed, we have seen for the most part what the 90-man roster will look like when the Chicago Bears head to training camp. With that said, what would the 53-man roster look like if the season ended today?

Quarterback (3):

Mitchell Trubisky, Chase Daniel, Tyler Bray

This was cut and dry with almost no competition, even for Tyler Bray, although they should sign an arm between now and camp.

Running back (5):

Jordan Howard, Tarik Cohen, Taquan Mizzell, Benny Cunningham, Michael Burton

Another very cut and dry situation. Burton and his limited pass-catching abilities may render him useless if a player such as Ryan Nall can prove versatile enough to make the roster.

Wide Reciever (6):

Allen Robinson, Taylor Gabriel, Anthony Miller, Kevin White, Javon Wims, Josh Bellamy

White and Bellamy survive. Pre-draft I was someone higher than most on Wims, so I see him getting onto the roster, especially over players such as Marlon Brown, Bennie Fowler, and DeMarcus Ayers. Watch out for Ayers and his return ability to try to edge out Bellamy.

Tight End (4):

Adam Shaheen, Trey Burton, Dion Sims, Daniel Brown

The Bears keep ten pass-catching options. Benny Cunningham, Mizzel, and Tarik Cohen are pass-catching options. The number of versatile pass catchers who could make this roster is wild.

Offensive line (8):

Charles Leno, Bobby Massie, James Daniels, Kyle Long, Cody Whitehair, Bradley Sowell, Eric Kush, Jordan Morgan

Grasu is a player who might finally fall off from Chicago. The fact of the matter is that he is not versatile. Look at every other name on that list. The two starting tackles followed by players who can slide around the line. Whitehair, Daniels, and Kush can all play center. That could be it for Grasu.

Defensive Line (6):

Akiem Hicks, Eddie Goldman, Bilal Nichols, Jonathan Bullard, John Jenkins, Roy Robertson-Harris

With the move of Rashaad Coward to guard this is another very cut and dry position.

Linebackers (8):

Danny Trevathan, Roquan Smith, Nick Kwiatkoski, Joel Iyiegbuniwe, Aaron Lynch, Leonard Floyd, Sam Acho, Kylie Fitts

This looks like a position where some fat was cut off. Jonathan Anderson and John Timu could slip onto the roster if Kevin White cannot show anything in camp or if Taquan Mizzel looks a bit too excessive next to Cohen and Cunningham. However, with the special team’s addition of Iyiegbuniwe, Kwiatkoski moving to a full-time reserve role and Acho, they should have enough special teams help here.

Cornerbacks (6)

Kyle Fuller, Prince Amukamara, Bryce Callahan, CreVon LeBlanc, Marcus Cooper, Sherrick McManis

McManis also makes it, adding special teams help across the board. Aside from that, no real surprises. Keep an eye on Michael Joseph on the outside and Rashard Fant in the slot.

Safety (4)

Eddie Jackson, Adrian Amos, Deiondre Hall, Deon Bush

DeAndre Houston-Carson did not make the cut. He is another player who could be considered with White or Mizzel being cut. However, the versatility in offensive packages combined with the lack of need for Houston-Carson on special teams makes him expendable.

Special Teams (3):

Pat O’Donnell, Cody Parkey, Patrick Scales
