Bleacher Report chose an Undrafted Free Agent for each team to make the final roster for the Chicago Bears, they chose Dejon Allen

In most situations, if an Undrafted Free Agent makes the 53-man roster in his first season, he was one heck of a find. Still, we find ourselves clinging to the potential of this low risk, high reward lottery tickets. With that Bleacher Report went team by team and chose the most likely UDFA to make the 53-man roster this season. For the Chicago Bears, it was offensive lineman Dejon Allen. Brett Sobleski wrote:

"Dejon Allen started two seasons at left tackle for the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors and excelled due to a strong lower body, compact pass set, and good angles. However, the reliable blindside protector never received much attention as a legitimate tackle prospect since he’s 6’2″ and 295 pounds.Teams overlooked Allen’s pro day performance, where he posted a 4.97-second 40-yard dash, 29 bench reps, a 30 ½” vertical jump and 9’1″ broad jump. Each of those efforts would have qualified Allen among the top eight blockers at the NFL combine.Body type plays a role in every player’s projection. Allen is better suited at guard or even center since he lacks the length to stay at tackle. As such, his fit allows him to challenge for a spot on Chicago’s roster.Allen will compete with Earl Watford, Eric Kush, and Hroniss Grasu to backup Kyle Long, Cody Whitehair and James DanielsMore from Bear Goggles OnFranchise tag and transition tag windows open for Chicago Bears and NFLHow the Chicago Bears can control the running back market in 2023The Chicago Bears can own the city of Chicago moving forwardChicago Bears NFL Combine Preview: Quarterback7 best free agent tackle options for Chicago Bears"

Dejon Allen is a player we have highlighted as a potential end of the roster player, so we have to commend the effort from the National writer. As mentioned, the versatility of Allen gives him a chance to find a spot over Grasu as the backup center.

However, in terms of making the roster, we had his chances third behind Kevin Toliver and Ryan Nall. Toliver is a high volatility case due to his off of the field questions so it is fair to understand why the writer went another direction. Still, if Toliver can get himself straight, he has a good chance to make the cut over Marcus Cooper.

We also highlighted Ryan Nall as a player whose versatility gives him a good chance to make the roster. You know Matt Nagy has to hate the idea of a skill player such as Michael Burton who does not present a threat to run or catch from the fullback spot. Still, nonetheless, it is fair to say that Allen is right there with these two and Rashard Fant, as the group ahead of the bunch when it comes to UDFAs to watch for in camp.
