The Chicago Bears added another pass rushing option to the room with the addition of Kasim Edebali

The Chicago Bears added to their weakest unit on paper when they signed pass rusher Kasim Edebali. The team has yet to announce a corresponding move.

Edebali is known a German born football player, which is very rare to see in the NFL. Edebali went to Boston College and went undrafted in 2014.

As the report mentions, Ryan Pace scouted Edebali for the New Orleans Saints and the team signed him as a UDFA for the season. Edebali turned into a gem of a find as he put up 2 sacks as a rookie, five the following year and one more in 2016, his last season with the Saints.

After the Saints moved on from him, Edebali was unable to land a home in 2017. He bounced around to four different teams. He spent the majority of his time with the Denver Broncos.

Kasim Edebali was signed in March and stayed on the roster through November. The Detroit Lions brought him in for a month before letting him go. He spent one week on the Rams and finished his season back on the New Orleans Saints.

Now, Ryan Pace is bringing back the pass rusher, in the hopes that he could turn up a few sacks if needed.

It is no surprise to see the Chicago Bears go for a pass rusher the day after announcing that Aaron Lynch went down at practice with a hamstring injury.

The injury is not supposed to be serious, and Matt Nagy said that Lynch should be healthy by training camp. Still a player with an injury history suffering an injury very early into camp is alarming.

The Chicago Bears need depth in any form and are going to add to it with Kasim Edebali. We will see if he can make an impact.
