Mitchell Trubisky admitted that he stays off of social media altogether to avoid hearing any noise outside of the organization

If you have tried to follow the journey of Mitchell Trubisky via his personal social media accounts you probably already know this but Trubisky is not doing much posting these days. In fact, he told NFL network that he is now off of twitter and is transitioning away from social media altogether.

You can hear his quote around the 31-minute mark. He talks for about a minute on the subject.

The biggest quote that I took away was “anything someone says who is  not inside of this building that I do not talk to on a day to day basis, it doesn’t matter to me.”

Due to recent events it sounds fair to say that Trubisky is not going to be the NFL’s Bryan Colangelo, following his name on twitter to keep up with himself.

Trubisky also said that he was too busy to get caught up in social media, and that social media was distracting him from what he needed to do. Fair enough.

It is worth noting that he did not mention his past history on social media, and how some of his older tweets got blown up in the past.

The fact of the matter is that some people can use social media and still get their work in. Antonio Brown is known for sharing work out tips on snap chat. It is a fun way for him to get in work and interact with his fans. Trubisky is not wired that way. That is fine.

The two still share a similarity in that the work comes first. Trubisky has taken a step forward this offseason as a leader. He has demanded respect, taken control of the quarterback room, and in turn has shut off things that he saw distracting him from getting to where he wanted to go.

This feels like a great sign for Trubisky to take a huge step forward, and have a breakout 2018 season. Could he put up 4,000 yards next year?
