If you were the creator of Madden, what would you rate third string quarterback Tyler Bray?
If you have played the video game Madden you know exactly what I am talking when I say the first you do when you buy the game is check out the depth charts, go to to the player ratings and get irrationally upset at the idea that the game could rate some of your favorite players in such a way.
However, before going in and getting mad, do you at least go in with a realistic expectation of what the rating may be? Maybe if you guessed a rating before checking you would not be as surprised. This series will go through each player on the Chicago Bears roster and give them a Madden rating. This edition will feature Tyler Bray.
Madden Projection: 60
Last year Tyler Bray was given a rating of 60. He has done absolutely nothing on an NFL field. He has played some preseason snaps, and has looked fine, but has never sniffed backup duties, let alone NFL snaps.
60 is likely going to be the lowest rated player on this team. It may be as low as it gets in the game. This is essentially fair for Tyler Bray.
When you watch Chase Daniel, you understand that he is much more a helper in the room than a player on the field. He is likely going to be a future coach and will help in the progression of Mitchell Trubisky. However, if Trubisky gets hurt, the Bears are in huge trouble.

Bray is the clear backup to that player. Bray has followed Matt Nagy and likely was signed because Nagy liked something he heard from him in an interview or meeting. He knows Bray has something good between his ears.
While Bray and Daniel are great backups to build up a young star on the rise, these are awful options in Madden. Bray gets his 60 rating as a poor option.
