How would you rank the top 90 players on the Chicago Bears roster?

Ranking 90-86  85-81  80-76 75-71 70-66   65-61

With the long wait between the start of Chicago Bears training camp and OTAs it is a good time to look at the Chicago Bears roster top to bottom. This will assess whose value is the most important to the roster in 2018 when assessing their floor and ceiling. It is not a perfect numerical grade, but should present good conversation about where players stand heading into camp. Today, we look at players 60-56.

60. Earl Watford

Earl Watford has the chance to be this year’s, Tom Compton. Last year, the Chicago Bears signed Compton to a one-year deal, with similar experience to Watford. Compton played in a reserve role at guard and parlayed that into a potential starting spot with the Minnesota Vikings.

Watford comes in having started 22 games in five NFL seasons. The former fourth-round draft pick spent the first four seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, playing right tackle and right guard.

The Cardinals let him go and he spent training camp in Jacksonville. However, in October, the Cardinals picked him back up and he finished the year starting nine games for them at right guard.

As mentioned in our last post with Dejon Allen, Bradley Sowell is beatable for a roster spot. The offensive line is healthier at the moment, and the hope is that some of these younger names emerge. However, Watford does have experience and is going to linger around the back end of the roster.
