4. Kyle Fuller

There was a reason why Mike Evans had a relatively quiet day and that was due in part to Kyle Fuller. In the past, Fuller has struggled against Tampa’s top receiver. In the 2017 matchup, Evans had seven receptions for 93 yards and a touchdown. In this game, Evans had six receptions for 59 yards and no score; a much improved defensive job than in seasons past.

Fuller has been catching a lot of criticism for allowing two big plays and dropping a huge interception throughout the first three games, but in this fourth matchup against arguably the best receiver he’s played this season, Fuller was locked in. He was tasked with covering both Evans and DeSean Jackson at times as Fangio put together an interesting gameplan that cycled the matchups between receivers and defensive backs regularly.

Ryan Fitzpatrick and Jameis Winston both targeted Fuller sparingly as his elite coverage skills are often overlooked. Curious to see how Fuller performs as the Bears face a stretch of AFC East opponents that don’t possess many dominant receivers.
