The Chicago Bears signed UDFA players on Saturday. Who are they and which are the best.

The Chicago Bears signed 21 UDFAs this offseason. While they all are unique in their own ways, there will likely only be one or two to make the roster. Last offseason we highlighted Kevin Toliver as the best option as a UDFA, and he went on to make the roster.

Which players have the best chance to make the roster this year? We dwindle the list down to the most legitimate 10 options.

First, it is worth noting that Long Snapper John Wirtel has a pretty good chance to make the roster. Still, it is as a long snapper, and these 10 options are intriguing as well.

10. Thomas Ives, WR, Colgate

Thomas Ives is one of those players who is intriguing. A local product, Ives went to Colgate to play college ball but will come home to compete in the NFL. Ives stands at 6’5″ and weighs over 215 pounds. Still, at that size, he ran a 4.48 40-yard dash at his Pro Day.

There just are not many people in the NFL who are that big and move like that. He has a long way to go in his development, but the Tanner Gentry comparisons can already be heard, especially with the local push.

Let’s be clear though, he is not making the roster. Ives has a chance to show well in training camp and find his way onto the practice squad. His upside will need time to mold, and the practice squad is the perfect spot for him.
