8. Mathieu Betts, Edge, Laval

An edge rusher from a Canadian college may find himself in some discussions this summer in training camp. Betts is a fascinating player who saw Division One scholarship offers, but wanted to set his own path in Canada before turning pro.

In college, Betts dominated. He showed technical qualities and better than expected athleticism. The three-cone is the number to look into.

That type of bend and flexibility along with technical refinement creates upside as a pass rusher. He obviously has a long way to go in the NFL, but he has upside that puts him into NFL discussions.

When looking at edge rusher, the Bears did not draft the position after signing Aaron Lynch. However, they did add three as UDFAs. Betts stands out as the one with the best chance to make an NFL roster. When looking at the roster Lynch is the number three guy behind Leonard Floyd and Khalil Mack.

Still, the number four player is a duel between Kylie Fitts and Isaiah Irving. Thrown Betts name into that duel as he should have as good of a chance as either of them. How he stacks up to these two will be a great measuring tool.
