David Montgomery was rated a 71 overall on Madden. Is that a fair projection?

The newest Madden ratings were released for the rookie class of 2019. Without a first-round pick, there was not much press around this for the Chicago Bears. However, David Montgomery was their stand-in first round pick.

Sure, he was a third-round pick. However, they traded up for him, he was their first pick, and the team is going to use him a lot in his rookie season. They went out and sought him and found him.

So, with that in mind, the question comes down to whether or not a 71 is a fair rating in Madden. This says that yes he is a good running back. However, he has not proven anything more than to be repalcement level.

At first glance, this rating looks low. However, looking at every first round pick from 2019, and it starts to look fair.

Making Montgomery a 71 is one thing, but putting him below Singletary is another. Henderson and Sanders could have been 73, Montgomery a 72, and Singletary a 71. A small
