The Chicago Bears new starting safety has returned from his injury and is set to practice

The Chicago Bears signing of Haha Clinton-Dix has been under the microscope considering he is a former Packer, and Adrian Amos moved from the Bears to the Packers. Who got the better player? Who was the overpay? Is Clinton-Dix a bust?

The early returns were not good for Bears fans when Clinton-Dix did not make it through OTAs healthy. Clinton-Dix was a bit banged up and the time between OTAs and training camp was not enough to get him back into game shape.

With that in mind, the Bears took the slow path and decided to place him on the Physically Unable to Perform list.

Starting the season on the PUP is not a big deal. If he did not start on the PUP and got hurt, they would have to make a tough roster decision. On the PUP, he could be eased back into play and does not count against the roster.

So, why not play a safe game? The Bears did just that, and as they told us, it was not serious. That came to fruition as the team took him off of the PUP on Tuesday morning, just the second week into training camp.

Clinton-Dix barely missed any time. He did not miss a single preseason game rep. He should be good to go for week one of the preseason and therefore his regular season should be right on pace. As you were Bears fans.
